Best Classroom Management Tips You’ll Wish You Knew Sooner!

Did you struggle with classroom management last semester?

Did you struggle with having students holding themselves accountable with their learning?

Need a better way to keep track of student behaviors?

Did it feel like your classroom had a revolving door?

Were cellphones the vain of your existence?

If so… the new year and the new semester is the perfect time to reset and review classroom rules and expectations! It is a great time to reuse what worked and improve on what didn’t. Classroom Management strategies are the one thing in teaching that we will always have to modify and adjust depending on the level we teach, our students and their needs, as well as  making adjustments to benefit the overall rapport of the classroom.

In my Classroom Management Bundle, you get 6 resources that I used on a regular basis with my students. Not only did these resources help my students, but myself as well! Giving students expectations that they can follow day in and day out, while holding themselves accountable goes a long way for everyone. I found that using these tools in my classroom made day to day routines much smoother!

The Classroom Management Bundle includes the following resources:

  1. Cell Phone Policy & Log
    • This is a classroom management resource that is used to track the use of students’ cell phones in the classroom. This is a great way to make sure students are using the most of their class time and only have their cell phones for educational purposes or when permitted in class.
  2. Discipline Log
    • This is a classroom management resource that is used to track student behaviors in class. This is a great way to keep track of student behavior for parent teacher conferences, administration, comments for grades, etc. as well as having proof of the steps you have taken prior to writing a referral.
  3. Missing Work Slip
    • This is a classroom management resource that is used to track missing student work. This is a great way to put the accountability on the student for owning their work and their choices.
  4. Permission de Pipi
    • This is a classroom management resource that is used to track the use of students leaving the classroom. This is a great way to end the revolving door of your classroom.
  5. Request To Retest
    • This is a classroom management resource that is used to track student retakes. This is a great way to put the accountability on the student for owning their grades and their choices.
  6. Tardy Policy & Log
    • This is a classroom management resource that is used to track student tardies to class. It is a great way to hold students accountable and to make sure they get to class on time each day.

If you only need one or two of these classroom management resources, they are available for sale individually too on my TpT Store.

*Please make sure this aligns with your school’s policy on cell phones use before implementing.

Another resource that I would use is my Billet de Sortir to end class. (Did I mention this resource is FREE!) The Billet de Sortir was a great way to let students know that the class period was ending and we would be wrapping up the lesson. This was a way to review materials, see what students took away from that day’s lesson, etc. Having a solid beginning and end routine to class time for students is key! This helps everyone to understand when class is beginning and when class is ending. Students THRIVE with routine and consistency! At ALL ages. 😊

REMEMBER, there is no right or wrong way to classroom management. You just have to find out what works best for you and your students, as well as what guidelines your school/administration have already put into place. It is okay to constantly rework rules and expectations throughout the year to keep everyone on the same page.

As always, I hope that you have found this information useful and helpful to you!

Merci,

Amanda
