Joyeuse Saint Valentin!

Joyeuse Saint Valentin!

❤️ Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤️

I always enjoy doing activities in class with students that pertain to each holiday! I don’t know about your students…but mine tend to go a little crazy on holidays! 😜 So instead of trying a “serious” activity on those days, I like to do an activity about each holiday! That way we are doing something that is fun and cultural as well as giving students the opportunity to use and practice their french language skills. It’s a win-win for all of us!

What kind of activities do you have planned for your students to celebrate Valentine’s Day?

I always enjoy having my students write Valentine’s to someone they care about. This could be a family member, friend, teacher, etc. Someone who is important to them in their life. It is always so interesting to see who they pick!

Here are some famous French quotes about love that are truly timeless. I always enjoy sharing quotes with my students. It is a fun way to use the language with them!

“Aimer, ce n’est pas se regarder l’un l’autre, c’est regarder ensemble dans la même direction.”
– Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
(“Love does not consist in looking at each other, but rather in, together, looking in the same direction.”)
“C’est cela l’amour, tout donner, tout sacrifier sans espoir de retour.”
– Albert Camus
(“That is love, to give away everything, to sacrifice everything, without the slightest desire to get anything in return.”)
“Il n’y a qu’un bonheur dans la vie, c’est d’aimer et d’être aimé.”
– George Sand
(“There is only one happiness in life: to love and be loved.”)

I hope you are enjoying this day with those that you love! I will be spending this day with my husband and daughter, enjoying each other’s company.

As always, I hope that you have found this information useful and helpful to you!

Merci,

Amanda
